DORA Metrics

Acronym : DORA

DORA metrics (from the DevOps Research and Assessment program) measure a software team's performance across four indicators: deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate and time to restore service.

Why it matters

They provide a factual, tool-agnostic basis to objectively compare a team's performance over time or against market benchmarks.

Concrete example

A company discovers through DORA metrics that its time to restore service after an incident is well above its industry median, and makes it its top DevOps priority.
