IAM covers the processes and tools that manage the full lifecycle of digital identities: account creation, rights assignment, periodic access review and revocation upon departure.
Why it matters
Orphaned accounts or access rights that are never reviewed are among the most frequent causes of security incidents, often discovered late during an audit.
