Carbon Footprint Assessment

A carbon footprint assessment measures all greenhouse gas emissions generated directly and indirectly by an organization's activity, typically broken down into three scopes (1, 2 and 3).

Why it matters

Without a reliable measurement, it is impossible to set a credible reduction target or meet the growing expectations of customers, investors and regulators on the topic.

Concrete example

A company discovers through its carbon footprint assessment that scope 3 (purchases and travel) accounts for 70% of its total emissions, far more than its own premises.
