Model Context Protocol

MCP is an open protocol that standardizes how an AI model connects to external tools, databases and services, rather than building a proprietary integration for each source.

It greatly reduces the integration work needed to connect an AI assistant to the tool ecosystem a company already uses, and eases interoperability between vendors.
